ACT 1 / DECISION / FIELD NOTE

Sovereign Tower Act 1 Best Start.

There is no proven universal best opening yet. The strongest community lead is a counterintuitive Act 1 allocation: take the Goose quest, then test the opposite of the obvious stat-based assignment while keeping the rest of the state unchanged.

Short answer: use this as a test route

A Steam community guide recommends taking the Goose quest and allocating knights in the opposite way that the visible statistics initially suggest. The guide is intentionally spoiler-free and does not publish a complete knight-by-knight answer, so treat it as a high-value lead to verify rather than a guaranteed optimal route.

  • Take the Goose quest
  • Write down the obvious stat-based allocation
  • Try the counterintuitive allocation described by the community route
  • Keep the rest of the opening choices consistent so the result is comparable

Why the obvious stat answer can be wrong

Quest outcomes are not only a contest between visible stats. Knight traits, quest conditions, relationships, and unique character interactions can change the result. That is why this opening is useful for learning the game: it teaches you to test a quest-specific outcome instead of blindly following the largest number.

What to record on the first loop

Before assigning the two early quests, record the available knights, visible requirements, current relationships, and whether a quest shows an unknown condition. After the debrief, save the exact outcome and any new quest or character that appeared.

  • Quest name and visible stat pressure
  • Knight assigned and relevant trait
  • Result: Critical Success, Critical Failure, or Unexpected Outcome
  • New character, branch, reward, or relationship change

Use the rewind as a controlled comparison

If the first result is not what you expected, rewind and change only the assignment. Do not also change the response, equipment, or preceding quest. The point is to learn which variable mattered before calling a route 'best'.

Spoiler boundary

This page intentionally stops before publishing the full consequences of the opening branch. Once the route has been reproduced in the current build, add a separate full-spoiler section with the exact knight allocation, follow-up quests, and trade-offs.
