ANNEX / CRAFT / FIELD NOTE

Sovereign Tower Forge.

The forge is not just a shop. It is part of the tower's long-term planning: every upgrade should make a future quest, relationship, or recovery loop easier to control.

Spend with a purpose

Before crafting, name the problem you are solving. Is a quest failing because of a stat gap, because the wrong knight is being sent, or because the kingdom needs a different kind of flexibility? The answer changes what a useful upgrade looks like.

  • Which upcoming quest or bottleneck does this item address?
  • Can the same resource unlock a new position or annex instead?
  • Will the item still matter after a rewind changes the route?
  • Does the upgrade support the whole court or only one narrow outcome?

The forge notebook

Keep three columns: resource spent, immediate effect, and the first situation where the upgrade mattered. This turns crafting into evidence you can use on the next loop.

When to wait

If you cannot name the next decision the item improves, hold the resource. A little friction now is often cheaper than locking the run into an upgrade that does not match your court.
